Content | This module introduces students to the basic theoretical concepts and methodological approaches in synchronic English linguistics. It covers the core aspects of English structure (phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics) and use (pragmatics and sociolinguistics). |
Learning outcomes | Students are able to define core concepts in English linguistics and apply them in small-scale analyses of language data. |
