Prerequisites | Students are expected to know the core concepts of different areas of linguistics. They need to have experience with data analysis for linguistic research projects and they are expected to have written term papers in English linguistics at Bachelor-level. Students are required to have good (written) academic English language skills (Level C1). Students are expected to have taken the Methods and Theories in English Linguistics Module or equivalent Master-level courses elsewhere. |

Seminars in this module cover specialized areas in English linguistics, with a focus on fields such as:

Learning outcomes | Students are able to develop their own research design on the basis of relevant theoretical and methodological literature, present this in class and develop their ideas and analyses into a research paper. They are able to critically reflect on their choice of method and theory and apply this in their data analysis. |
