Short Internship (Spring 2023): Designing Brave New World Activities (Aldous Huxley)

Interns are invited to design activities for visitors to the Aldous Huxley Centre Zürich.

The centre sports one of the world's most comprehensive collections of first editions of Huxley's complete works, including a number of author's copies, autographs and other memorabilia. It is visited by groups of teenage students from Gymnasia and adult university students.

At the moment the priority would be to design activities for the two Brave New World rooms.

Slots: 1-2

The student(s) will be able to:

• explain the organizational structure and aims of the Aldous Huxley Centre Zurich;
• outline key features of (and critical debates about) Huxley's Brave New World;
• devise interactive games and other activities for adolescents.

Prerequisites:

• Interns should have read Huxley's Brave New World.
• C1 or higher in German and English

Assessment:

• Time Sheet: Students will have to submit a time sheet documenting their workload (c. 90 hours). The time sheet needs to be signed off by the contact person at the partner institution.
• Portfolio with a description or electronic copies of the material or the texts included in the audio guide (original and translation).
