01.08.2019EFACIS Membership for The Swiss Centre of Irish Studies @ the Zurich James Joyce Foundation

We are happy to announce that SCIS-ZJJF has been accepted as a member of EFACIS (the European Federation of Associations and Centres of Irish Studies), thereby fulfilling one of our primary objectives when we established the network, namely to facilitate scholarly exchange with members of other Irish Studies networks in Europe.

EFACIS organises a large Irish Studies conference annually (this summer in Ljubljana), offers PhD seminars and has its own multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal entitled RISE(Review of Irish Studies in Europe).

SCIS-ZJJF will also become a part of EFACIS’ Irish Itinerary, which coordinates visits by Irish writers, filmmakers and artists. The current roster includes luminaries such as Lenny Abrahamson, John Banville, Marina Carr, Anne Enright, Eimear McBride, Colm Tóibín and many more.
