About Me

I recently started as a PhD student on the SNF-funded project Waxing and Waning Words: Lexical Variation and Change in Middle English  under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Olga Timofeeva and Dr. Annina Seiler. I completed my master’s degree in 2013 at the University of Burgundy and my thesis dealt with the transcription and lexical analysis of an early 16th century sermon. After a few years as an English teacher in secondary schools in France, I started teaching contemporary and historical linguistics to undergraduate students at the University of Burgundy.

For my PhD project I will describe the development of the Middle English lexicon in two lexical fields in particular: medicine and religion. I will also participate in the creation of lexical databases for these lexical fields and study the impact of diachronic, diatopic, and diaphasic processes on the standardization of the Middle English lexicon.

Teaching

I have previously taught lectures and seminars dealing with historical linguistics, as well as contemporary English grammar. I also taught French to English and English to French translation classes.

Starting in HS 2025 I will be teaching a seminar for the History of the English Language course.
